Mr. Bigglesworth Adventures

Mr. Biggles

Mr Biggles as he was popularly referred was the short name of James Bigglesworth, a fictitious character based on the author's own self initially. The series of Mr Biggles adventures started with "The White Fokker" in 1932 and ended with  "Biggles Air Ace: The Uncollected Stories (1999), though the last story written by WE John was "Biggles Does Some Homework" in 1997. In between there have been as many as 100 books (inclusive the first and the last).

According to the story, Mr Biggles was born in India to John Henry Bigglesworth and Catherine Bigglesworth. He had an elder brother by the name of Charles and an uncle who lived in rural Norfolk, known as Bonzo Bigglesworth.  Mr Biggles spent his holidays with him in England. Biggles had first encountered an airplane during his school days when a Bleroit was forced to land on the cricket pitch of his school, Malton Hall School in Hertbury.
