Mr. Bigglesworth

 

The story of Mr Bigglesworth is about a young man who fell in love with airplanes and who in order to realize his dream joined the army at the earliest possible opportunity. Mr Bigglesworth was born in India to British parents. He spent most of his childhood in this wondrous country while his holidays were spent in England.

Mr Bigglesworth's schooling was done in England, at Malton Hall School which he left to join the army in 1916. He learned flying the same summer at the No 17 Flying Training School (Norfolk) and the No 4 School of Fighting.

Mr Bigglesworth flew many airplanes during his career starting his career with the Sopwith Pup and the Sopwith Camel. An overview of the stories on Mr Bigglesworth implies that he had crash-landed about eight times and had about 32 hits or kills as it said in the army jargon. In recognition of his bravery, Mr Bigglesworth was awarded the Military Cross and bar and the Distinguished Service Order.
